if Dallas is like Houston, you better specify exactly what you want.

Texmex or authentic?

What are you looking to spend?

I ate at some Mexican place on Greenville. Can't remember the name of it, but it was pretty good. It's pretty famous, I believe.

Cyclone Anaya's is fantastic. I've never been to the Dallas locations, but I've been to all three in Houston and each is really great.

That's pretty sad if you think Mi Cocina is top 4.

Just places I've been in Dallas. Never claimed it to be the be all end all. If you want real Mexican food, go to East Dallas homes and find some hole in the wall taqueria. Bring your piece with you though.

Also, end yourself.

I think my buddy was saying something about that place last time I was in Dallas. I'm not from D-town but I spend a good amount of time visiting friends up there, but I only know about the places they take me.

-I think Uncle Julio's is more Tex Mex than anything else. But if that's what you're looking for than go for it.

-PPS(lolz)...there was an article in Texas Monthly not too long ago about a guy who was supposedly the best Mexican restaurateur to ever walk the streets of Dallas. Don't remember his name, but it's kind of a sad story-lost all of his money. I hear he's trying to get back into the game...I'll dig the article up when I get home and see if it offers any suggestions.

I wouldn't recommend any of those.

Mia's on Lemmon is my fav these days.

Mariano's is old school and where the frozen marg was invented.

La Calle Doce over in Oak Cliff (its safe) is great mexican seafood.

Desperados...more old school

Avillas on maple is a hole in the wall "new school"...hard to explain but foodies come from out of town to eat there.

I like Chuy's too.

I like Herrera's on Denton Dr. I actually really like Mi Cocina's although it's a chain now. I grew up going to the one in Highland Park Village and have never had a bad meal there.

Mi cocina has the strongest margaritas, not that crazy about the food. Papsito's and Uncle Julio's are really good Tex Mex, Herrera's is good authenic.

Chuy's is overrated IMO.

I'm a huge fan of Papasito's but it is more of a TexMex place.
