Don't get me wrong I've met Jim Hawthorne, and think he's a great guy ...

BUT

I would vote for Charles for baseball any day of the week. Well you know, when he's not on the poker tables at the boat

Didn't Patrick Coogan do the commentary with Hanagriff? How did he do?

I can't get over the fact that he looks so freaking douchey:

I 100% agree, but I may hold a little bias. I really do enjoy listening to him call baseball.....listened to him tonight before finally switching over to basketball.

I like Hannagriff as a color guy, but he's not a good PBP man.

We gonna do this stupid thread after every LSU sporting event now?

It's getting fricking tiring.

You mean Charlie "I'd rather be somewhere else" Hanigriff? Please. Unless something huge happens, he sounds peerpetally bored.

Can we just be happy to have good teams and STFU?

Hawthorne: great radio voice; looks like Mr Whipple from the old Charmin toilet tissue ads; below average understanding of baseball

Hanagrif: monotone radio voice; a face made for radio; better understanding of baseball than Hawthorne or Mr Whipple

My preference for baseball is Hanagrif. At least he knows what he's talking about and doesn't wonder why LSU scores 19 runs one game and can't push anything across the next.

charles is really good at baseball .. with that being said, i just don't think he could do football or basketball ... both are just too fast for him and his voice cracks badly when he speeds up and tries to put emotion in it ... his style is perfect for baseball .... LSU needs to get with the 21st century anyway and have multiple PBP guys specializing in individual sports like other schools do ... the one man does all three system is very antiquated ... LSU doesn't have to pay hawthorne a lot of money because he doesn't have a college degree .. that is why he will be behind the mike until the day they put him in a box ..

What boat? Hopefully, Belle of Baton Rouge, which is a sponsor of TigerDroppings.com. Head to the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino for a good time.
