Made the trip to
Stark Vegas this weekend and best SEC hospitality I’ve experienced as an opponent. Even during the times we were ahead in the game they were very friendly. Bunch of blue collar folks and now my SEC fave when not playing the Tigers! Great venue and great fans if you get the opportunity do yourself a favor and make the trip!

Besides their gay cowbells and the color maroon, I’ve never had an issue with State.

I miss the good old days when everyone hated LSU.

How many "Light Years" better was Dudy Noble than Alex Box?

BTW, It's good that MSU (And Auburn) are back on the football schedule this season. (And on back to back Saturdays)

I’ve enjoyed every sporting event that I have been to in Starkville. Their fans are not the slightest bit pretentious and it I good wholesome game day atmosphere. As an LSU fan, I have never felt a bit threatened there. I even enjoy the town of Starkville itself.

I think because LSU and MSU are old school baseball programs before college baseball got really big, the fan bases respect the game and respect each other.

Back in my baseball playing days, we played a game at Ms.State. It was 1991. I was playing Left Field and a ball was crushed by a Ms. State player. I proceeded to drop step and heading straight back to the fence. As I reached up and caught the ball above my head, I crashed pretty hard into the fence. There were a bunch of Ms. State fans on the other side of the fence. They began congratulating me on a great catch. I was pretty shocked to see fans acknowledge a great play, even when it came from the opposing team. I view Ms. State fans as great baseball fans of the game, no matter how contentious the competition is.

ProjectP (who has probably never left his hometown) will be along shortly to tell you that you're wrong and all coaches and fans of opposing teams are complete scum and should be sentenced to a public hanging.

Oh and the umpires too

My wife does not like State fans at all; they have been the most obnoxious in Tiger Stadium from her experience.

That’s sort of like saying “other than that Mrs. Lincoln how did you enjoy the play”

Never been to DN but on the televised games this weekend, that looked like one damn nice stadium. It appears they have mostly (are all) chairback seats and the entire stadium just looked like it would be a great baseball venue.

Only downside .... just not sure about the SRO row behind the seated rows behind homeplate.

Difference between DNF and Alex Box is the suites in LF and cooking allowed

If LSU would find SOME way to liven up the outfield area and encourage cooking, tailgating, etc. it would be awesome.

I've always enjoyed visiting with State fans when we are both in Omaha.
