Why wouldn't he? He is one of two college baseball coaches with multiple national titles. He is the only coach in college baseball in the last decade to take 2 different programs to the cws.

Not agreeing with the poster but JJ has no leg to currently stand on to ask for more or bitch about money. This team is fundamentally awful almost across the board. And the money he spent, is sitting in wood and one of them is probably doing eating challenges for more wings or hot dogs during a game.
Ask in a better position. LSU gave him a good allotment and he spent it poorly with this a result. Why would we put good money after bad.

The leg to stand on is winning 2 national titles in the last 3 years(about to be 4 years).
Every ad in america would take 2 seasons just like this year if it meant you had just won 2 of the last 4 national titles.
The best coaches in college baseball right now,except corbin, don't have multiple national titles in their entire career.

Right. And they completely forget that he does his best work off disappointing seasons. Nobody will outwork him in the offseason off a disappointing season. I'm actually more excited about next season than I ever was this season. Same as 25 vs 24.
I was defending Jay Johnson hard in 24 from all of these same ridiculous takes. I'm happy to do it again this season.

I take nothing away from him and the nattys. I said currently, aka today, to ask for more money he doesn’t have a leg to stand on. He just got the most money he’s had post natty and but this shitbox together. He has said he failed, in more shifty words than that. This was a year of the most money he’s had, off a natty and all the momentum you could ask for at a school that loves baseball and supports it to the utmost. He misssed. He missed. He’s not perfect, I don’t want him fired, that would be the dumbest thing ever. Hes a good coach that got the Maneri syndrome maybe of laziness but he’s our guy. Just don’t bitch about money if you can’t fricking invest properly.

Take a look at John Savage’s record, who is as primed as anyone to get a second title this year. It took him about 10 years to get back to the CWS last year. In 2024, UCLA was 19-33 and 9-21 in the Pac-12.

FWIW at least these retarded statements are confined to the Rant where everyone can share their retarded comments anonymously. none of them have the stones to put their name behind their statements for fear of rightfully being labeled a retard.
Sure he’s doing a poor job this season but we’d absolutely be worse off with whoever we’d replace him with. There’s literally no other coach we could bring in that has the success he’s had this decade. He’s owned up to the mistakes he’s made this season with the roster and said he’d never make those same mistakes again. If anyone has earned the grace and opportunity to correct it, it’s him
