Walked outside today and just said, "Damn, this is a perfect day." Thermostat says 75, but feels like 65. Not a cloud in the sky. Trees and bushes starting to bloom. Honeysuckle, jasmine and magnolia on the breeze. Pollen got knocked down by the rain a few days ago. I just had to take a stroll and enjoy myself for a few minutes.

So, we have bad weather days every year. Snow, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, etc. Those mostly suck. Can't do shite but watch the news.

Why can't we have one "Good Day"? That day when it's so nice we just say, "frick it. Let's go fishing or to the park or to the pool or wherever. This shite can wait."

Just one. We all used to take Sundays off and shops were closed. We all agreed to that. So, I propose ONE Good Day a year to be determined by each state. If ideal conditions are met, it's paid time off. It is a holiday.

I've talked to people that lived in Minneapolis and they did have perfect weather days.

When the weather was nice, downtown would empty and everyone would be on a lake somewhere.

I took the day off to do some yard work, watch a movie and chill. May hit the gym a little early also if I still got it in after the yard work.

In Houston, we referred to perfect weather days as "Open Window Days" and were so desperate for them that we even counted half days as such.

Sounds like the words from a lazy socialist!

Just kidding. I used to take PTO for perfect weather days. But then I had kids and PTO is for when they're sick.

When I was serving duty on NAS ADAK, Alaska, it was almost always cloudy. So, when the sun was out and it was a clear day, we would get a day off and call it a sunshine day.

I was able to have these with my old boss. I would text him in the morning that I was taking a mental health day and he would reply back "enjoy the golf course".

Just a perfect day, drink sangria in a park and then later when it gets dark, we go home

I was drinking In Milwaukee and they had something similar

It was a perfect late summer day and every bar was slammed. Talked to a few people and they said businesses will let people cut work on a nice days knowing winter will suck so bad.

Need to adopt that in Texas for around November when the heat finally breaks

Season? We get one week at best and then it's down to the pits of Hell with the occasional tornado siren to remind us that life is fleeting and fragile.

I think your idea is great. Now get back in the office and get me those TPS reports. And make sure you put the new cover sheet on them.

It’s the best season here in FL by far. That March-May stretch is beautiful and great fishing.

I've been thinking for years that Louisiana needs to change from school break being in the hottest months of the year.
Schools should have their two month break from April to May in Louisiana.

I call those "Mental Health Days." If my girls had straight As, they were allowed one mental health day per semester. Sometimes you gotta just go outside and enjoy it!
