Here's a great documentary about the B-52s where at the very beginning of the documentary it mentions the fact that Ricky Wilson and Keith Strickland met each other at my brother's and my head shop in Athens, Georgia called "The Looking Glass".

Does this documentary shed light on frontman Fred Schneider’s sexuality? I’ve always suspected he’s a bit light in the loafers, if you know what I mean…

I think it's pretty well known that all 3 of the dudes in the band were/are gay...

As far as I know all of the members of the band are homosexuals. Ricky died from Aids in 1985. That's when Keith had to switch from playing drums to playing the guitar. Keith taught himself how to play Ricky's style of guitar.
They are a great fun party dance band. They get people up and dancing.
When Keith and Ricky hung out at The Looking Glass they were both very intelligent young men.

One of my personally sad days was when I found out Kate Pearson was gay.
Is the other girl too?

She's straight. The rest are dysfunctional.

The Resort I worked at in Tempe housed the B-52's twice. They were all arse holes.

I've heard you mention that job you had over the years on here a few times.
I would love to here more celeb stories from you, how they acted, tipped, etc..
You should make a thread on that.

That was a good little documentary on them. Thanks for posting.

I've heard the exact same thing about them.
...and it's strange because they're not exactly top tier talent or celebrities.

I would enjoy that. Just keep dropping those nuggets in the threads.
Be more specific about the interactions if you can or care to.

You got that right. I bet even when they were a big deal over half of the country wouldn't have recognized them. ESPECIALLY individually.

Gene Simmons is no surprise but I am a little surprised by Yankovic, I would have assumed he would be at least a little bit cool but apparently I would be assuming wrong

The Cindy songs are slept on.

1969 is also when the Allman Brothers were playing Piedmont Park, when you and your brother lived in midtown ATL, per a previous story.
You were running a head shop in Athens at the same time you were living in midtown Atlanta?

I would have imagined Mike Ness to be an a-hole. Interesting.
