I agree, but only because I'd love to see the melt on here which would be catastrophic

REALLY don’t want to trade up. I feel like no matter what happens in front of us, we’ll get a great player.

Id be good with Love at 8. Trading up for a RB would cause a melt though.

That’s how I feel. We need all our picks in future drafts. There will be an absolute stud at 8 no matter how this draft falls

I'd like to trade back in this one 2-4 spots but it seems like teams will be offering very little for that, and you KNOW at least one WR will go at 9 if we do that

“Absolute stud at 8” is not at all a certainty…

Love looks very close to a “can’t miss”
But there are never any guarantees..,

Yeah that’s not true, there’s only 3-4 blue chip players

Love
Styles
Bailey
Downs

All could be gone by the time we pick then we’ll get a good player, but not a HOF / all pro type based on what we know right now

I'm not sure I agree. I think there is a drop-off after Reese, Styles, Downs, Bailey, and Love. These are the players most likely to be among the best at their positions in the next year or two.

Bain, Delane, Tate, Tyson, etc. certainly could turn out to be elite, but are more likely to just be solid starters. Nothing wrong with a solid starter, but if I'm picking in the top 10, I want elite.

There's not 10 elite players in this years draft. So the sooner people accept that fact, the better. Teams that do not frequent the top 10 draft positions picked a bad year to suck.

If this is what you believe:
quote:

think there is a drop-off after Reese, Styles, Downs, Bailey, and Love

And you consider it's all but guaranteed that Mendoza goes #1, then you just need Mauigoa and a WR to go top 7.

The bigger question is, how long do you sit back and gamble hoping for 2 other players to go ahead of you before making the move. Or do you sit back and hope for the best and ready to grab your Tier 2 guy?

Also, the early reports from "guys that called it" last year appear that Bain & Delane are high on the Saints board. So, if they have those 2 guys in the group with your 5 guys; there is absolutely no reason to move up.

do this. if they mortgage future picks in an infinitely better draft class for this weak arse draft, I'd be shocked.

Do you even Mansoor Delane bro. And lemon won the biletnikoff on a very meh team and is insanely good despite this boards opinion of him. Both big need positions and absolute studs to fill them.
