Does the President of the United States actually take the time to issue pipeline permits?

Seems incongruous to me...

If I were the company, it would be a tough choice to find this thing, only to have it shut down by democrats at a later date

I've never understood why leftists hate pipelines. They seem way more "green" than driving 18-wheeler diesel tankers across the country.

Warren Buffett has a lot invested into shipping oil by train IIRC. So they fight anything that would hurt that.

This. Buffett practically owns the trains that ship oil from Canada into U.S.

Cui bono. Always follow the money.

Buffett/Berkshire Hathaway is also a HUGE investor in two upstream E&Ps, Chevron and Occidental Petroleum, who benefit from more takeaway pipelines, and BH also owns Pilot, which operates some oil pipelines, along with lots of produced water pipelines.

The President’s never signed any of my pipeline grants. That would be pretty freaking awesome, though!

The XL pipeline was announced and the rail line stock plummeted and Buffett bought it.

Then out of the blue, for no reason, suddenly, native americans started protesting it was going over their water source. Now forget the fact two other pipelines were already going over the water source and had been there for years.

Then "environmentalists" joined in leaving their shat and trash everywhere.

And suddenly the pipeline was cancelled and Buffett started printing cash (less what he paid to someone).

And you are right sir, always follow the cash. And remember the rule of J P Morgan. There is always the "good reason"......and the "real reason".
