Feel like the 3rd base coach makes worse decisions

there is really not that many plays in baseball to challenge so not really

He knew he wouldn’t win that one. Probably just trying to get the next pitcher a bit more warmed up.

It’s a strategy. He challenges everything close.
I can’t remember needing a challenge in a game and not having it, so I guess it’s fine.

Are you saying Jay is challenged at challenging?

He’s said before that if it’s a game changing situation he is challenging.
It’s worked in LSU’s favor several times this year.

It's a sign of desperation. He's at the end of his rope with this team.

Heard ump say he could ask for a review after the 8th... its the 7th...seems like it was kinda a..why not cant take em with you thing. Im not mad at it....even if it was obvious

Exactly. He challenges basically any close scoring plays and other significant plays. If you want to think of it this way he's not aiming for a high challenge success percentage, just a high number of reversals

after watching the review the play was actually a lot closer than the naked eye.

If he didn’t challenge, mfers would be screaming from the rooftops about him letting teams get away with shite.
Also if you don’t think Jay is making calls based on staff input who’s job, is to watch every bang bang and egregious or slightly questionable play then you never got out of small ball.
