In all our Iranian strategy, support for a new Kurdish state would be a huge masterstroke!

With Iranian zealotry in the shredder, it is time to look at the ME as being driven by a more cohesive environment filled with wonderful opportunity for development and new beginnings.

quote:

A weakened Iran, stripped of its “IRGC teeth,” would create a power vacuum that should be filled by those who have actually fought our common enemies. Supporting an independent Kurdish state — carved from Kurdish majority regions in northwestern collapsing Iran and neighboring areas in northern Iraq, northeastern Syria, and southeastern Turkey — would be the ultimate strategic masterstroke. (These regions could first exist as autonomous entities within their countries, as is already the case in Iraq, with a concrete plan for eventual unification.) A sovereign Kurdistan would be a natural ally to the U.S. and Israel, serving as a democratic buffer against whatever radicalism tries to rise from the Iranian rubble.

Imagine a region where the “Ring of Fire” around Israel is replaced by a “Circle of True Friends.”

The Kurds are never getting a state. Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria aren’t giving up territory to make it happen. Any promises made to Kurds about a Kurdish state will end up getting Kurds killed. It happened in Iraq and it’s happening in Syria.

Like he said, "I believe the Kurds are brave enough to stand up to the dark."

Don't forget the Turks. They wouldn't mind killing some Kurds as well.

Sounds like the Kurds are about to get duped and dumped again.

Good luck getting Iran, Iraq, Syria and Turkey to all agree to this!

The Kurds aren't a unified group and the Turks are absolutely going to lose their minds if there is a new Kurdish state.

To lose their militaries in about 3 - 4 days when Kurds ask for our help. The ME is changing rapidly for the benefit of all of us. Iran is a festering sore that is being surgically removed.

Lol. The Turks have consistently gotten their way with respect to the Kurds. Turkey's geopolitical position is more important than the Kurds, unfortunately.

Both Turkey and Türkiye have split, one not wanting to be mistaken for the other.
