Can we legitimately go after Brooks, or do we not have the cap space for it?

I think he is exactly what we need at OLB.

I'm just glad we won't have to face galloway twice a year anymore

He's at least worth a look, maybe we can get him cheap

No. He was playing for Houma's old AFL team.

Just when Milwaukee was making a push as the #8 seed. They'll regret losing him

Galloway had a terrible season? He only had like 13 receptions.

lol true dat. he didn't even have a td all season long. i guess the bucs are finally trying to go younger! especially with the changes on defense as well as qb.

With all that cap room (like $55 million) they could be scary next year. I'm sure they can afford to get at least two of the top free agents out there.

sign him and put him at Weakside, a 36 yr old Brooks is better than a young, healthy Shanle.

Brooks yearly total tackles:
Rookie year: 82
Years 2-13: anywhere from 158 to 103 a year
Year 14: 73 (career low)

Note: Brooks, much like Ray Lewis, while only having 13.5 career sacks, has been a bigger factor in coverage as he had 25 INT's in 14 years, and averaged over 100+ total tackles for his career
but now appears to be posting career lows

Brooks in 2008: 73 TT, no sacks, 1 INT, 1 forced fumble, 7 passes defensed
Shanle in 2008: 87 TT, 2 sacks, 0 INT, 1 forced fumble, 5 passes defensed

Note: Shanle never had a career year over 96 total tackles
