Love for Burns at the Masters

How about some praise for our Louisiana boy?!! No small task to be IN the Masters, much less be a contender on Sunday. Let's hear it Tigahs! Would have loved to be watching at his home course bar at Squire Creek.

Burns is the new David Toms, except he's not from the Shreveport-Bossier metroplex.

Sam had a great weekend. He had terrible start and that set him back and wasnt able to a run. Rory stumbled and recovered on Sat/Sun.
But Sam had a great weekend. I hope it gives him a boost.

Really! I kept hearing he's from Choudrant, near Ruston

Burn’s next step is being that guy. He has to believe it. It’s obvious given his talent and skills he’s one of the best golfers on the planet. But every time he gets a lead he succumbs to the pressure. Came out birdie the first hole. Tied for lead. Royally fricks up next two holes. Now he’s out of it. Presumes to play good golf the rest of way like he had all week. Proud of him though for fighting through it

Almost went on a run on the last few holes. Still made money betting him to finish top 8

That’s where he lives now I think. But think he’s ‘from’ Shreveport

He lives on Squire Creek in Choudrant outside of Ruston. He is from Shreveport.

When he was in 2nd yesterday, I thought for sure he'd be in contention today.

He’s from Shreveport and played at Calvary. He now lives in Squire Creek near Ruston. He actually purchased Kyle Williams home when Kyle was hired at LSU. Squire Creek is now his home course. Great guy and is often seen around the community.

Very proud of Burns over the weekend, he’s getting very close guys.

For being in the hunt on Sunday, he got very little airtime. We got five minutes of Rory drinking water and Cam Young eating a protein bar, but hardly any shots of Sam Burns.

He needs to get over that hump and get a major. He did very well on Sat being paired with Rory. I thought he would be solid on Sun but he was immediately in a hole early. Then I think he was straight pars on back 9. Him and Lowry never made a move, so unfortunately that pairing never got TV time and you saw very little of them after the first 5 or 6 holes.

He birdied 16 and was two shots back with two to play

Let's not forget another great Shreveport golfer, Hal Sutton.
