I have no problem with laughing at good Trump impressions, even if they're less than flattering... but that was just bad all around
Lazy writing, lazy content, and not even a good impression of Trump anymore from the cast member solely hired and employed to impersonate him (which is sad in itself for a lot of reasons)
SNL used to be great, spawned numerous movies and legendary bits, and launched the careers of some comedy greats outside of the show itself. But there's a reason none of that is happening anymore

The Hegseth ring tone made me smirk, but yeah, for someone so insanely easy to get 'content' on to make something legitimately funny.. these people continue to suck at everything they do

I stopped watching SNL years ago. Back in the era of Mike Myers and Dana Carvey the show was hilarious. The show just never recovered after everyone from that era left.
The Brits just started SNL across the pond. I have not watched it but I can’t imagine it being any better. It’s probably worse. People would probably just be better off watching Benny Hill or Monte Python.

I never said it was good. The one last year where Trump clowned Lin Manuel Miranda was a top 5 SNL political skit of all time tho.

I don't know any details, but I read a claim just yesterday that it's already gone belly-up. I saw a few minutes of the first show, hosted by Tina Fey, and it was about as funny as having a double root canal. They should've at least had Amy Poehler host the debut show. She's actually funny.
They would've already pulled the plug on SNL here, but Comcast/NVC is too arrogant to admit that they screwed the pooch when they started using the show to bash Trump 24/7, just like Disney/ABC uses The View and Jimmy Kimmel, and CBS uses Colbert. Those are entertainment shows. They're nothing but political propaganda.
Not to mention the fact that SNL started bowing to DEI when it came to casting. That no-talent bum Leslie Jones didn't have any talent other than goofy facial gestures.
SNL = DOA. Only easily-entertained lightweights still watch that crap.
