Don't think I can endure a late Saturday night with this pitching staff.

Well, I mean there should exist some long term feelings worth glimpsing at the wreckage

Saw your (and others) comments re Peña last night. I don’t get it either. They clearly acknowledged they were looking for outfield and pitching help by dangling Paredes, so why him and not Pena who would have likely gotten more return coming off his season last year? (which I frankly think was an outlier)
My tin foil hat opinion is that it wouldn’t have been popular with casual fans to deal him with two years left and I believe Crane is focused on that sort of stuff…see the deals with Correa and Verlander. Correa wasn’t a bad deal in terms of capital given up, but that salary is a serious hit. I like Carlos and he’s still a solid player but that deal made no sense given they had just acquired Urias. It reeked of Crane interference and I felt Brown showed he was irritated when they asked him about Crane’s input at the press conference.
Crane is broken.

He made a lot of excuses, but I didn’t see one that was injury-related.

This team is reverting back to its means.
7 straight Alcs games and 4 World Series have left me spoiled and expecting more.

As a fan of the Astros and a student of the game, I am all for owners taking the players to the woodshed in the coming lockout/strike
How can EVERY time a player gets paid become such a nightmare handicap to the success of a team so consistently?
Complacency, injury all the same when it’s said and done. They have created a system that rewards individuals at the expense of everything, and allowed the Dodgers to make a mockery of anything remotely resembling the integrity of competitive balance
Unless you have a personal tie to an individual taking financial advantage of it, it’s broken
