Rates within actual Pensacola Beach are close to $3k for the weekend. Within the mainland it is closer to $600 for the same time.

How bad is the traffic/parking if we were to try and go and attempt to see the show along Pensacola Beach for the Blue Angels?

Rent a boat and watch from the bay.

I'm excited because ths Blue Angels are coming to Vero Beach next month. I live about a mile and a half from the airport, so I need to figure out where to be to watch the show.

Getting to PB early is easy. It's getting back across the bridges that the problem and makes you wish you stayed on the beach. (or boat)

Yep. Bring food and drinks for the entire day. Plan on taking a beach nap. Don’t be in a hurry, it will be fine.

If you plan on getting there 2 hours prior to the show and leaving within 2 hours, good luck.

If you plan on getting there 30 mins before and leaving right away, put down the bong.

Traffic will be worse than you can imagine. The public beach parking lot will be full by 5am on Friday and Saturday of the show.

We went a couple years ago and purposely set our checkout date the Saturday of the show, and were on a boat to catch the practice session on Friday. The practice session is a full run through of the actual show, and while crowded, was no where near the crowds/traffic that we saw already stacking up when we left town the Saturday morning. So that's always my tip, catch it Friday if you can.

There's a Facebook page you can follow( Blue Angels Practice Info) that post all their scheduled info. We were there all week and were able to catch a beach buzz on the Sunday when they came in from an out of town show, then their normal Tuesday and Wednesday practice sessions, then the full show practice session on Friday.

I grew up there so I saw the Blues a ton as a kid, they're awesome, but that weekend is a hard pass unless I'm in a hotel/condo/house within a half mile of the pier - on a boat, it's more doable, but it's still a battle.
It's a long day, as others have mentioned, the main beach lot will fill before sunrise. Make sure to bring a ton of water to keep cool/hydrated because you can't go in the gulf during the show and you can't get in a hurry to leave unless you like sitting in traffic, though the AC may be worth it at that point.

Couple of years ago we went and one of the visitors told us to be there by 3am if you were going to the beach. There were right we got at 3am and everyone was helping each other set up. Crazy how many people are there during this.
