What happened to Richard Condon?

I got into a twitter fight with him over the McNeese trainer during last years NCAA tourney.

He kept sending me DM's to fight. I told him he would have to meet me in Jackson MS, gave him my number, and told him to call me at the state line.
That's the last I heard of him.

I think he got fired and supposedly hasn't been on twitter since.

One time, this was late 1990s or early 2000s, but me and another guy I rode with to school would listen to him in the morning.. And he was going off on something and me and the guy I was with was just talking "it would be funny if someone called in and told him _______" so I picked up the phone and called. I had to prepare myself to not laugh and sound like I was serious.. I get on air and told him he was an idiot because of his opinion on something. He went off.. And we thought that after the next commercial break he would move on, but we listened as long as we could, which if I recall was about 30-35 mins and when we stopped listening he was still calling out the guy he thought I was.

And I remember having the conversation wondering if it was all an act or was he really as fired up as he was acting. I have to think it was an act..

Dude was aggravating and finally got canned.

How old is Condon now, 70?

It’s been over 20 years, but I one time watched him on interstate backed up traffic pour himself a cocktail. It looked like a bourbon and Coke. When he saw me notice him, he sped up and got right in front of me. Sort of a hypocrite and she had gotten a DWI way back in college.

I don't listen to radio much at all anymore, but they usually don't advertise when they get rid of someone, they usually just advertise when they get someone new.


But wasn't he fired from 98.1 many years ago? Maybe not, I know he was on AM stations a lot, but I thought in the early 90s he was fired by them.

Back in the 90’s when he was on 100.7 when it was a rock station he would go on these rants about men who hit women. He would regularly tell the audience that any guy hits their woman was welcome to come beat on him. He said he was giving their woman the day off. He challenged them to meet him in the parking lot of the station after the show. I have had ppl tell me he would actually hang around the parking lot after working waiting on someone to show up. No idea if anyone ever did.

Okay. I thought it was 98.1 but this must have been the station.

What's funny is that if any guy showed up they would be admitting to beating their wife, which wife beaters never do.. And if they do its not to Richard Condon.

Is that the station he was on when he wanted to fight Jamie Howard? I was in middle school in the early 90s.. Specifically when Howard was QB, but I remember it being a thing.. Condon calling him out.. Or maybe Howard called into his show:?

Haven't listened to 98.1 in the morning for awhile. Condon is no longer on the morning show?

His lisp seemed to get worse over the years.

He was cool to me years ago at Kingfish hockey game...told him he did "good losing all that weight". Later he came back threw us a bag M&M's candy

I saw him at one of the casinos (in BR) many years ago. He was one the blackjack table next to mine. His wife was with him and I couldn't hear anything, but he was doing a lot if interacting with the dealer and it all seemed to be good spirited.
