I dont think Iran is going to matter for the midterms unless the oil issues from the blockage of the strait are still being felt in November or we escalate and send in ground troops.
People are ultimately going to vote based on the economy, neither party is popular right now but the left sucks really badly in terms of messaging and candidates IMO.

Much of this board's populace ascribes to the 'silent majority' theory and is therefore distrustful of any polling. Plus the 2016 election result contradicting polls. I read people's posts of lying to pollsters on purpose to try and screw up results.
The hypocrisy is blatant when the same folks post about polls showing good results/improvements for Rs vs Ds... it's not intellectually consistent, no attempts made at good faith arguments, which is no surprise here.
