So who knew? Apparently I didn’t.

Does anyone have the newer single unit that combines a washer and dryer, is ventless, and runs off 110?

If so, thoughts?

Based on heat pump technology, I believe.

But the moisture has to be sent somewhere.

it collects and runs off the evaporator and into the drain.

I am going to bet that all-in-one units will be the future eventually. Unfortunately for the time being, manufactures seem to be only able to make junk and something complex like an all-in-one unit has a lot more to go wrong.
I'll stick with standard space consuming separate units for now. If I had money to burn it would be cool to try one out though.

I think the people who knew designed a separate washer and dryer. There is no way that is economically feasible to have in one unit. I don't even know what to say here. I mean how dense are you and have you never washed or dried clothes?

I hope they've improved recently. We had one in a condo rental a few years ago. After two loads of laundry in the dryer, there was water dripping off the walls and the laundry room looked more like a steam room.

They work, my parents have one and I also have a ventless heat pump dryer. They of course take longer to dry and can’t handle a big load. The problem with them is over time lent gets on the vapor coils and need to be cleaned. they are not built with easy access to do that.

Why does it need to be ventless?

Yeah, if we're doing laundry on the weekend for our family of 5, I like to start the next load in the washer while the dryer is running. Makes no sense to have one unit being taken up for both parts of the washing and drying. I'll throw a load of towels and underwear/socks etc in to wash, then start drying them. About 15-20 minutes into the dryer cycle, I'll start a load of darks or delicates and those go in right as the others are done drying.

Are you single without kids? You enjoy laundry taking 3 hours per load and the loads be 3/4 size at best of a normal washer?

You are better off getting a washer and hanging your clothes to dry, seriously.

The amount of laundry my wife does she’d be running a load every morning and every night and probably trying to fit a 2nd one in at night.
