Why did it take so long?

George served in the role under Biden’s Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. “We are grateful for his service, but it was time for a leadership change in the Army,” a source told CBS News.

Good Lord. What is the body count going to be at the end of the day and what took so long for this person?
Biden era anything should've been gone on day one.

Not sure but isn't this the guy that hegseth loved...because he followed him around like a brown nose bitch, working out every half hour together?

Another great move.
Slowly but surely the swamp is being drained. Thank you Hegseth

The guy has served for over 30 years and was in a position that is typically 4 years.

He'll be on the board of Raytheon next week.

Comic Book tough guy. Whe Trump is ridding himself of the incompetents and fools, he should have a meeting with Hegseth.

You’re mistaken. Lloyd Austin retained him.

I don't know how I feel about this, I worked for Randy George and the dude is a really good person and cared about the Soldiers and their families above all else. It has been a few years but of the people I worked with, he is the one I would want to be Army CoS (focused on admin and Soldier welfare not war, that is the COCOMs)
I do think he probably isn't a big fan of the current admin and I can't imagine his wife is at all (she was super entitled). He also isn't one to hold his tongue, which likely contributed.
As others have noted the current senior leadership in the military has been heavily shaped by politics and probably always have been. But Stan McChrystal was a badass operator and also one of the most liberal people I have ever worked with - Obama fired him over the Rolling Stone article.

Lloyd Austin
One of the least intelligent people I have ever had to brief. He never asked any questions, probably because he didn't understand what he was just told.
He did have a strict policy on speeding though.
