This takes me back to a simpler time. Your current local forecast without all of the BS.

Imagine a scene where you are at home watching the weather channel with the soft jazz of weather on the 8's and then a tornado or hurricane blows your house down.
Or the Cinemax version of the same scene except that a storm is brewing outside, but inside the sheets are heating up as a high pressure system is moving into a low pressure center.

Local on the 8s
I used to tune in to the Weather Channel just for that. I rarely look at the Weather Channel any more.

Early 90's had a job where I worked from 4a - 1p. I'd get home about 1:30, put on the Weather Channel and that music and calming speak would put me right to sleep until my buddy got home and then it was time to go drinking again. Good memories.

You gotta be kidding me. It still works?
I used to call that number all the time when I was a kid
Didn't it tell you the time too?
Unbelievable that we had to call a phone number to reset our clocks after a power outage

My wife and I would turn to the old-school Weather Channel when it was business time, back in the day. I know we weren't the only ones who used the soft jazz as "background music," so to speak...
