That’s cold.

quote:

The Wizards brought a fan out for a blindfolded halfcourt shot with the promises of $10K if he made it. The fan badly missed the shot, but because he was blindfolded, the Wizards pretended he made it and had the announcers and various mascots celebrate with him.

The team did give the fan an autographed jersey and some courtside seats for next season. I guess that’s cool, but $10K is a lot cooler.

Not a bad attempt blindfolded. Would be funny if he somehow made it.

I'd be pissed if I only got $10k making that blindfolded, relative to other payouts I've seen.

First tricked into attending a Wizard's game, then tricked into thinking he won $10k. Dude is quite the sucker.

He should sue the shite out of them citing this case...

quote:

The "Toy Yoda" lawsuit (2001-2002) involved Hooters waitress Jodee Berry, who won a beer sales contest expecting a new Toyota but was instead given a "toy Yoda" doll as a prank. Berry sued for breach of contract and fraudulent misrepresentation, settling out of court in 2002 for an undisclosed amount, allowing her to purchase her own car.

That won't be for a Spurs, Celtics, or Lakers game. It'll be for the Kings or Pels

He didn’t make the shot though. That case would be more applicable if he made the shot, but they gave him $10k in Monopoly money instead of $10k USD.

bookmark this, but Wiz are winning 50 games next season if they land AJ or Peterson. Wiz are going to be elite very, very soon. AD/Trae are basically place holders too. Wiz young talent is loaded, they just need that alpha that can drop 30-40 any night. They have everything else.

I thought this was hilarious but some are saying he was likely a plant anyway based on his reaction watching the shot

I wanna believe its real but seeing how lawsuit happy people are I can understand why they'd use a plant.

The "Toy Yoda" lawsuit
Radio stations used to do this 20 or so years ago saying the prize was "100 Grand," calling and interviewing the ecstatic winner on-air, and then telling them they won a candy bar. Good times.
