Why can’t we just have automated strike Zone on every pitch

South Korea has implemented that in their professional league. It also isn’t fail proof…

I haven't watched too much MLB this season yet, but have there been calls challenged where the batter is walking off for a presumed ball-four count, and been right yet? I know that's often been an automatic with umps to call it a strike damn near every time.

Technology can frick some shite up. I’ve watched baseball since I was 5. 35 years later, I’ve never thought that my team lost because of balls and strikes. There’s an artistic beauty in being able to paint a corner based on a particular umpire.
Well enough wasn’t left alone. Soon, every call will be relayed in an earpiece, and even if wrong, challenges won’t be available.

Eventually I think it will. It's ultimately up to the owners to make the rule change. It's a delicate balance between the interests of the umpires' union, MLBPA, and the fans.
There are a lot of traditionalists that won't be amenable to the change. But as time goes on and newer generations of fans grow in numbers, I think it is inevitable. For example, many purists were against the pitch clock at first but have changed their tune after seeing how it has enhanced gameplay overall.

Because automation is bullshite - some things need the human element for entertainment. What is needed is stronger accountability for shitty egotistical umpires like Angel, CB, Kulpa, etc. I miss the days of managers and umpires being belly to belly spitting in each others faces over bad calls in an afternoon game in early August where everyone is miserable working a game between two teams already out of the playoffs, but with everyone so hyper focused on gambling now those days are over. It's not about entertainment, it's about making money off the players.

I disagree. I often think we are robbed of some incredible games because of the human element.
Example, runners on with one out, and all of a sudden the umpire starts giving a couple inches off the outside corner where he wasnt two innings prior. The first time that is called a strike it completely changes the mindset of the hitter. Now he feels like hes got to chase off the corner.
That isn't the game of baseball. That is a flaw in the game that we now have a remedy for.

the thing about that Korean video is...a lot of those may have been strikes. I bet their system considers the 3D strikezone and some of those nicked the corner. Youd be shocked at what the path of the ball actually did compared to what your eyes and the vantage point we have is telling you.
Sure its also going to make mistakes sometimes, but i dont know if people are ready for what has actually been a strike this whole time and we just pretended it wasnt.

You've yet to show where the game has been robbed. You only described a fantasy.

In the MLB hitters that have an 0-1 count the batting average drops below .200
When the count is 1-0 the general batting average is over .300
And that is just a general scenario. We can reasonably assume that when a count starts 0-1 because of an expanded zone that .200 average falls even further due to chasing pitches to account for a new and expanding zone.
You are asking to prove something that is unprovable but we can use statistics to show it can have a massive impact on a game.

They can still be demonstrative with the calls. They are the only people that know the call in the ear piece.
Fans would be none the wiser. Calls on the edge of the strike zone can still allow the ump to hold dramatic pause and call strike 3.

Exactly.
Just because the catcher catches it well below the zone doesn't mean the ball didn't travel through the zone.

They need to fix the 2D vs 3D issue first. They were working with the 3D in the minors, and maybe spring training, but they were not liking the results in breaking balls and another pitch. So now they’re working w a 2D plane in the middle of the plate; which screws pitchers with a lot of late movement
