Never happen. Ottawa will claim the signatures are invalid.

This will not pass or the Canadian govt will block it.

More than likely, this will cause a vote of no confidence in the government and another election will occur.

About the same population as Alabama. But all of Canada has a GDP less than Alabama.

So, Alberta. If you want prosperity join us. If you want freedom join us. Canada will give you neither.

So will California, N.Y., Massachusetts, EBR parish, the liberally biased MSM and the globalists.
That's what happens every time a public vote goes against thier agenda.

Including support activities like pipelining, refining, etc. Alberta's O&G industry accounts for ~7%-8% of Canada's GDP while accounting for something like 85% of Canada's oil production.

Overall, Alberta's GDP would put it squarely in the middle of US states (around 24th going off their 2024 GDP numbers of ~$350B, putting it between Connecticut and South Carolina), a little above Alabama (whose 2024 GDP was $321B).

LINK

Alberta's spot in being Canada's top oil producer is a huge problem for Canada if they were to actually secede, but another is that it would pretty much land-lock British Columbia. There are currently no roads (at least none I know of) which allow coast-to-coast travel in Canada without going through Alberta (this also includes their electricity grid as well as pipelines).

***EDIT***

Correction: Alberta would be at #30 with $262 USD (thanks, Yip!)

Trump can officially recognize their independence and offer a treaty.

And the GDP would be higher if it were not for Ottawa. That is why they are leaving.

If they vote for it, Ottawa is going to have issues. Their military is not going to invade Alberta.
