We just don’t ever expect them to play at the same time?

That is interesting.
Three #6’s including Dottery at LBer.

Kiffin probably giving #7 to Winnie

(ETA: nevermind, Winnie just switched to #6 from #8)

It's going to get worse the more numbers we retire.

And what numbers would that be? The two we already don't use? 9 and 5??

It’s up to the head coach’s discretion if “retired” numbers can still be used. They just retired Charles Alexander #4, but we still have a WR wearing it.

We still have people wearing #37 & #21.

#20 will never be worn again. Safe to say that will also be applied for #9 & #5

Since 2007, LSU has only "retired" jerseys, leaving the numbers available for current players.

The only numbers officially out of circulation are: 20 in football, 23/33/50 in basketball, and 15 in baseball.

Whether the retired jersey numbers are issued I guess could be up to the coaches. Miles was pretty insistent on not issuing 37 after Karnell Hatcher left in honor of Tommy Casanova.

And 20. I said the more that is retired. The more that are retired the less will be available. That is just a fact.

They call that retiring jerseys or something like that which is different.

The only numbers that should be off-limits at LSU are #9 and #20

Heisman AND National Champion.

With that said, if Trey’Dez gets #7, I’ll need new shorts.

Hell nah, he has to earn #7. TreDez or DJ Pickett is the only people that should be considered. I don't want to see a transfer in #7 or #18.

This seems most likely… I didn’t realize Watkins was originally #8 when they put out the roster last week. Him moving to #6 looks more like a trade with Longstreet

9 & 5 are not retired numbers, nor are they retired Jerseys.

20 is the only retired number in football, technically. All the others are retired jerseys and can be used at the coach's discretion.

Under a provision of the LSU jersey retirement bylaws established Jan. 1, 2007, the retirement of an athlete’s jersey in a particular sport does not preclude a current student-athlete in that sport from wearing the jersey number in that or any other sport, subject to the discretion of the head coach. This provision applies only to jerseys retired after January 1, 2007. The numbers worn by Maravich, Pettit, O’Neal, Cannon and Bertman may never again be worn by future student-athletes in their respective sports.

Ah, these threads always remind me of the bone-rattlin' hits young Ryan Perrilloux was handing out on kickoff coverage as a freshman in 2007.

Now that's a fricking quarterback. - Me, circa 2007
