This is bald faced lie.
The boats are Pakistani-flagged, not American, and Iran made a deal with Pakistan to let through 20 boats. The US has nothing to do with it.
But if that's what he has to tell himself to get a "win" and end this shite show, then, by all means, go ahead.

How many American flagged tankers are there in the region? I bet zero or close to it.
What country those tankers are flagged under doesn’t matter. Where’s the oil headed. Does the world market benefit?

I have no idea where we are at on negotiating with Iran, because their regime uses the same rhetorical tactics as Trump (create a narrative & then deny til you die). But a lie is a lie.
Trump lifted sanctions on Iran and Russia and also is letting other countries pay Iran $2M per ship… for safe passage from countries not named USA to countries not named USA.
“20 free tankers!”
Meanwhile same board also loves to pretend that the “funding” Iran received through JCPOA was some sort of cash dowry & not release of assets seized under sanction… now re-read the paragraph above lol.
It’s like debating children.
