Looked for a topic here, but don’t see it listed. Well done in my opinion. The house itself is a main character. The lead actress is a smokeshow. Best thing I’ve seen on Netflix since The Haunting of Hill House

Yeah she was in season two of the night manager. She’s smoking.

I'm halfway through. The house is very cool. It's like a maze with all of the curving hallways. They do a great job of making the viewer think one thing is going to happen, then suddenly going in a different direction. I'm planning to finish the series tonight, so I'm curious to see how it ends up.

Is it the same type of horror show? I couldn’t tell from the preview if that’s what it was or something else.

This seems to have more dark humor in it, but I got the same sense of dread watching it that I got with HoHH. This is also more frenetic, if that makes any sense. Definitely has a supernatural element, though

We finished this series last night. It's pretty good. Definitely recommend. Not as good as the Haunting of Hill House which is the goat of horror series in my opinion, but this is still a good horror series to watch.

Never mind. Finished it up last night. It started so strong, but the ending was a convoluted mess. They set the tone in the first episode with this eerie ethereal quality, but they ultimately didn't revisit any of it later on. Not sure I'd sit through it again. the first 3-4 episodes were pretty amazing.

Agree. It started so strong but fizzled out down the stretch. The atmosphere they set up in the first couple of episodes with the big, dark house and the maze-like hallways, the creepy painting, and the family's weird behavior was so well done. Once you found out what was really going on, it felt like a let down, and it became unnecessarily convoluted.

It felt like two completely different shows to me.
I much preferred the feel and suspense of the first 2-3 episodes.
Did I miss something, or did the dogs have anything to do with the plot at all?

Saw the title and thought this thread was going to be about the new Harry Potter show.

They never explained it. One of the several plot lines that went nowhere.
