A series win today would be huge, gives us a boost of confidence going into the meat of the schedule.

UTe
Ole Miss
AtM
State

That will be a tough stretch.

Yeah win today and (somehow) go .500 through that stretch puts us at 10-11 and in position to make a run at 16-14 w/ a chance to host

Way too early for all this but USCe at home would be a must sweep. Then don't get swept at UGA and win the home series vs Florida.

That was my thoughts, figure out a way to get to 16-14.

It’ll be interesting to see who gets the ball.

Hope Jay sticks with Pearson, Dardar, Braun and Serna in the lineup today.

If 16-14 puts them in the top 6 in the SEC, they sure are hosting.

This may be tougher than you think. FL. is 22-6 and just won the first 2 games at Ark (who is overrated IMO)

My thoughts going into every baseball season is 15-15 is your baseline expectation. 5 home series, 5 away. 2-1 at home, 1-2 away in every series gets you there.

So far, assuming a win today (I know, but we have to start with an assumption), we are :

at Vanderbilt -1-2

vs Oklahoma - 1-2 (behind by one now)

vs Kentucky - 2-1 (assuming a win today)

That would put LSU at 4-5, where the baseline should be 5-4. We need to pick up 1 by either sweeping at home or going 2-1 away to break even. To go 16-14, we need another of those. These are the remaining teams with their current SEC records:

at Tennessee (3-5) Home 2-1 Away 1-4

at Ole Miss (3-5) Home 2-3 Away 1-2

vs Texas A&M (4-4) Home (1-2) Away 3-2 (so far 2-0 vs Mizzou)

at Mississippi State (6-2) Home 1-2 Away 5-0 (Swept @Vandy, 2-0 so far @ Ole Miss)

vs South Carolina (1-7) Home 1-2 Away 0-5

at Georgia (6-2) Home 4-1 (so far 2-0 vs USCe) Away 1-2

vs Florida (5-3) Home 3-0 (swept USCe) Away 2-3 (swept by Bama, 2-0 so far @ Arky)

Let's start by assuming we go baseline (2-1 home, 1-2 away) on each (10-11) and see where we can pick up two games. The first obvious place to start is a sweep of South Carolina at the box, which leaves one to pick up. I think we could easily win 2 at Ole Miss or Tenner.

So I'd say 16-14 is a realistic possibility with just slightly better play. If the hitting comes back around and pitching settles in just a little more, 17 or 18 may be possible. However, 12-18 is also a possibility right now. I lean toward 15 or 16 right now, but my default is a sunshine pumper.

They also got swept by Bama, who got swept by Kentucky, so

If LSU cuts out the free passes, they will win a lot of games.

I know hitting hasn’t been great, but still, in the loses if you cut out the free passes, LSU Wins almost all of them.

As of now they are not. He’s talking possibilities which it’s obviously still possible they can host.
