I know everyone wants him gone but people need to get used to him being here. Would you really trade him for a very late 1st or two? If the Pels could attract good players in free agency I would be more into trading Z but we simply won’t get anything close to a return that equals his ability to influence a game. Zion has been way too willing to pass the ball instead of taking it to the rim over and over which should leave guys like Trey and Bey open. I think his hand injury is impacting his play a bit but whoever is coaching this team next year will have Zion on the roster and will have to figure out how to best use him. Queen has a very long way to go so I’d rather he cone off the bench until he’s not so terrible on defense.

This is literally the best way to use him. Probably the only way he stays healthy over the course of a long season. You'd only unleash him in post season play. They have the formula down. Unfortunately you're only getting 60-70% of his best on most nights.

Z getting what he wants tonight. He’s beating Jakob Poeltl like a Cherokee drum!

I agree to an extent, but Z is a tricky guy to evaluate because of his injury issues/toughness questions and also bc is an odd duck of a player. Extremely good offensively but very limited at the same time. Difficult to go to in crunch time against teams that have length. I would hate to get a low first round pick for him but I think it is time to move on and spend our max money in some other way.

That’s just it. Who is going to want to come play in New Orleans worthy of a max deal? No one. I still think Zion can work but we no longer need to be basing our entire franchise around Z. He’s a huge piece but only a piece. This team can be a winner only if our top 7 guys all play well and pull their weight. We will have several 20 point per game guys but no “star” scoring 30+ like SGA and Luka. I like our roster actually, especially if Fears and Queen improve and we find another shooter off the bench like the Lakers have Luke Kennard.

Certainly but it'll never happen.

Zion? In what world would you not want to do this?

I'd get rid of him for nothing if we could, I would have done that when we actually could have and he had zero value.

He's a negative value asset, we are better long term if he's gone whether we get anything in return or not.

Zion is a hairball clogging up a drain. Its not just removing him but his salary space. Get the best big or pic and move on.

The worst players for your team in the NBA are not the total min value G league scrubs.

It's "good" players paid like superstars.

Zion isn't even an All Star anymore but he's paid like a franchise player. That kills your roster.

Building a team of pretty good players is the fastest way to nowhere.

Zion will never become dominant until he develops and willing to shot a jump shot. His way of playing will get shut down during the playoffs when teams actually start playing actual defense.

Also during the last 3-4 minutes of a close regular season game.
