I'm glad we got Will Wade. I think he is a good coach. But too many of ya'll acting like he is the second coming of John Wooden or Dean Smith. Let's wait until he makes a FF before we build a statute.

Nobody thinks he’s going to propel us to a top 5 program…
The bar is literally a charismatic coach who cares and constantly gets us into the tournament. Honestly that’s how low the bar is.
If he makes a little run here and there then that’s lagniappe.

I remember Wade as recruiting good talent but being a poor in-game coach. It was pretty much street ball.

Or I just don’t really care about basketball. It’s a silly sport to me. But if you enjoy it then good for you and congratulations on getting the coach you wanted.

I remember that he was so young as a coach that he struggled some with the balance between offense and defensive focus to where we were great offensively for few years but couldn’t stop anyone so he focused much more on defense the next year and it was really good but offense took step back. That balance will be perfected over time and he will have to adjust it at times depending on the team. Looking forward to being more competitive and making the tournament consistently. Even if they bust one of my brackets each year cause I put them to win it all out of hope. Will still be much more fun seeing them in the tourney and being relevant again. Looking forward to seeing what he can build over time

Yea was stubborn about playing small early on and like you said couldn’t decide on what style of D to play until that final season. But that’s how he’s played since then and it’s really a big advantage for him now. Can’t wait to see what having stability does for him, that’s the only thing that’s been missing for the guy.
