Outside of NC state fans, why would anyone even care about this

When I see people calling WW a scumbag, I try to wrap my head around what exactly their alluding to.

Did they actually care about the FBI investigation? Feels like an incredibly hypocritical and empty argument. If they cared they wouldn't have praised the hire when he went to NC State, or they should have also demanded Bill Self's head.

"Well this is just what he does" Are we conflating Kiffin and WW as the same person now? Hard to really believe WW has a "history" of this just because he left McNeese recently (on incredibly good terms I might add).

Major media is missing the main, and only, important part of this story, and I don't blame them because you would only be in the know if you were living in this state or on this board. The average LSU fan really never stopped acting like WW was their coach. In spirit, he was always the General in exile. And now, for the deeply personal reasons he alluded to, there has been a reunion.

At the end of the day it just rubs people the wrong way when they see that coaches are real people and are not forced to treat each coaching job as an equal commodity. It pains people to be reminded that some jobs are just BETTER than others.

Venture over to the OT and you'll see the meaningless shite people care about. The world has turned into a 1980s womens hair salon where everyone has to have an opinion on something and everyone overvalues their opinion.

Hindsight is 20/20 but this always seems like the likely reunion they should have expected/

If you do not understand why this is a big media story, your head is up your arse.

There was a gigantic media push back in 2021 and 2022 (and even before then starting back in 2019 when things came out) to get Will Wade fired. We saw all the suspects involved and LSU became the villain for not firing him right away, etc etc

Once Woodward finally fired him, nobody cared anymore. Nobody cared he went to McNeese a year later. Nobody cared when he left for NC ST.

Now that hes back here, its going to be a lot of the same suspects from several years ago who were pushing every negative story they could out there about him and the university. They did not want this reunion to happen because in the end it means we are winning and they are losing because they arent getting the result they want.

Embrace being the bad guy and being a winner again

They don't want a successful LSU. Just look back at the media reaction to Brian Kelly leaving ND for LSU. They couldn't believe he would do such a thing. They were pearl clutching.

Until he delivers, why would LSU fans care at this point?

Because its fun, and the program is dead in its current state? Also its vindicating since we felt like we shouldn't have been cornered into firing him?

What kind of question is this?

After we got rid of the cheat, I couldn’t have cared less about him being hired in other places. He was now *their* problem.

I was just glad to be rid of him. Unlike the WW nut slurpers, I didn’t follow his career afterwards. The important thing was that he was gone.

And now…like a dog turd that you can’t knock off of the bottom of one’s shoe, he’s once again LSU’s problem.

LSU will one day regret what it has done here. Cheaters are going to cheat…especially when they get away with it.

I think there are several contributing factors:

1. LSU fans almost to a person have a kind of irreverence for the institutional aspects of college football. We never bend the knee to worship all the little demigods they set before us. (Think: Lou Holtz; Bo Shembechler; the "Men of Troy" crap for USC, Notre Dame, etc.) We typically mock all of that shite. They don't like that.

2. Seems like the majority of sports "journalists" come from butthurt places like ND, Penn State, USC. Many of these schools were fading just as LSU took off again under Saban. We piled up hardware as they sank into mediocrity, and I think they hate us for it.

3. There's just the classic "othering" aspect, too. Lane is right. Louisiana culture is just different. And they hate us for it. Yankees call us hurricane bait and oil field trash. Midwesterners think we're too loud. Stuck up, tea-supper southerners from the Bible Belt states don't like the diversity of LSU's fan base (Cajuns, rednecks, black folks, you name it.)

4. There's also a political element. Louisiana is a red state with a conservative gov. who's sometimes easy to pick on. Seems like a fair number of sports reporters are lefties or at least left leaning, and they don't like LA's dismissal of progressive politics.

It's all good, though. Cuz we never liked them anyway!

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

So retarded man. So sick of clowns like you. Will Wade contributed more to LSU basketball in the past 4 years being away than McMahon did his 4 years here. Think about that.

Because college basketball media thumbs their nose down to LSU. Sean Miller and Bill Self got passes for doing the same because it was Arizona and Kansas.

Calipari had Pat Forde running coverage for them. Dick Vitale was the spokesperson for every other major blue blood that is holier than though. He could’ve driven Pitino’s mistress to the Louisville abortion clinic and would’ve still sworn how they were better than Will Wade.

In my mind he had stayed around too long. If I was Alleva and the BOS a few years ago I would have fired him when he said to Alleva, his boss, that he didn't feel he should have to meet with him. Forget the payments.

If one of my employees had said that to me, I would have made sure he wouldn't step foot back into the facility. It would have been the principle of the matter.

Personally, I think Ausberry has potential headaches on his hands with both Wade and Kiffin.
