California Democrats are using satellite images to find structures on residents properties, like a shed that wasn’t authorized to be built, and then sending them bills for as much as $12,000 per day

One family received a notice the would have a $900,000 lien out on their home from the county

How is one California county using cannabis and grainy satellite images to extort millions from homeowners? This is Doug and Kareen Thomas — They moved to Humboldt County after their home burned down in the L.A County wildfires, and 6 days later, their dream property turned into a nightmare.

The county said a letter saying this barn was built without a permit, and prior owners did use it for growing weed. So they had 10 days to demo the barn or face fines of $12,000 per day.

And ignoring the letter would result in a $900,000 lien placed on their property, which could then be sold at a tax sale.

— How is this possible? Well, Humboldt County is part of the Emerald Triangle. For decades, it's been a hotspot for OG growers.

And after California went legal, the county wanted its cut. So they created an environmental response team to supposedly protect a sensitive ecosystem. In reality, it was used to weed out black market growers and incentivize them into the legal industry.

They'd use old grainy satellite images to look for unpermitted development, like barns, greenhouses, grading, and even the removal of too many trees, because those things must mean you're growing weed. However, in Humboldt, people have developed property and lived off the land without permits for generations. But the county didn't care. They had a quota to me, 50 permit violations a week.

— How are Humboldt County's actions any different than mob rule?”

They need to find out who, specifically is responsible. "The County" did not do this. A small group of individuals did. Deep six the group, then get more citizen friendly people in the next group.

My wife and I didn’t give birth to our kids to be subservient to any government.

At some point, people will have to resort to violence in order to remove the boot of tyranny from their neck.

This is what accessors are doing nowadays as well. They sit on their computers and look at properties without getting their butts out there and being able to see things they never could.

Great documentary on Netflix about Humboldt County. Sounds like the Wild West with Bigfoot and the devil's lettuce.

They been doing shite like this for 40 years, thermal imaging for warm spots, using Feds raid private land. People in so Humboldt and emerald triangle don’t play and they are not any kinda hippies. They are full blown anti govt mountain ppl and will protect their land by any means and they will never find you…
With how cash has gone away the mountain cowboys are slowly being choked out as so cal moves up farther and farther. The larger cities up north are slowly rotting away, you know when your around real old blood locals when you see the flat bed truck pull up to get groceries and everyone stays tf away from em.

That whole county and nor cal is such a shame. Really need to split Cali up big time. And San Fran and Sacramento do not need to be apart of the northern California state.

I agree, but tax assessors across the country do this stuff. It’s not unique to CA.

I don’t think the fines are that high though if anything. They just want to be able to up your assessment. They look for new concrete pours too.

Madison County Alabama has been using satellite images for years to do property tax appraisals. They look for new structures like swimming pools or additions so they can raise your taxes.
