If you've driven by the closed Fleur De Lis Pizza on Government Street recently, you may have noticed that construction fencing has been removed and the site remains unchanged. It closed in July 2022.

Big Horn River, LLC, purchased the local restaurant in June 2025. Company representative Carl Batson says they still plan to reopen the beloved pizza spot, but their renovation timeline has been pushed back a few months.

"We're getting there, we haven't given up on it," said Batson.

The come back would've been the opportune time to move it to a better spot imo

I think the location is fine. Just improve the current lot with paved parking...

Seems like a pretty straightforward reno since they were keeping the current structure. Starting and then stopping is a little weird. I wonder what could have gone wrong.

Putting these sentences back-to-back is oxymoronic.

"We're getting there" implies progress is being made while "we haven't given up on it" implies progress is stalled.

Where did you pull this quote from? Was that all there is?

I found it, WBRZ
quote:

The new target start date for renovations is early May, and Batson remains hopeful it will be open before the end of the year. Mid City architecture firm TIEK BYDAY remains on the project.
likely the cause of the delay

I can assure you that FDL will happen. Any delays are not money or will, but likely permits or planning.

Could have just as easily been an oh shite moment once they really started peeking into the guts of that old shithole. But, it's also hard to imagine anyone was doing anything but factoring in the absolutely worst possible case scenario with regard to that.

My guess is they have a long way to go in order to get that old POS building up to code.

The building is awesome. I’m sure it needs major repairs, but I hope they make the right repairs and keep the old spirit alive. A shitty building is part of the charm, let’s just hope the kitchen is clean.

Are those asbestos ceiling tiles?

Looks like a nice stucco store front attached to a run down building. Lipstick on a pig, if you will.

The old school feel of the place was what I liked most about it. If they upgrade and modernize it, it's not gonna be the same.

Asbestos ceiling tiles won't hurt you unless you are scratching on them and making dust. I can't tell the measurements of them so there's no way to know. I believe asbestos and lead must be disclosed before sale and remediation required but I'm not a real estate agent. My experience is having managed industrial projects. All that being said, I hope they open soon. I grew up eating there after soccer games at Independence Park.
