I thought LSU had bought that for recruiting purposes. I know no one in his family lived there.

I doubt he's going anywhere.
What's the point. He's got a kid going into 10th grade that likes it here and he's getting paid $3M/yr for the next 3 years no matter what he does. Might as well take some time off and enjoy life, maybe do some broadcasting and then get back into coaching in 3 years.
As a father, that's what i would do.

Read over the article from 2022. LSU gave him a $1.2 line of credit, but it was attached to an LLC of Kelly family in Toledo.
There is a rule that if coaches lived more than a mile off campus, they could only host recruits on official visits. The lake house allowed staff to skirt the rule.

LSU gave him a LOC but Kelly was living there. He had the rest of the 3.5 mil it was worth in his personal name.

Yeah I know all of that. Many coaches get interest free loans for houses as a part of their contract. Not sure why you think that means he didn't live there...
