Am I the a-hole?

So my best friend for years was over having drinks with my wife and I. His fiancé was with him. I am straight, but admittedly, he and I fooled around a little in our 20s.
My wife and his fiancé know this so theres no weird vibes. However, on this particular night I kept feeling my wife tapping my foot under the table so I glanced down to him playing footsies with my wife.
I got really angry, but im not even sure if it was jealously of him or my wife. Anyways, I hired a man to show up to his house and pretend my friend was cheating on him with his fiancé. So now they broke up.
