I wish there were a standards based way of drawing maps rather than this arbitrary junk that can go either way. I mean, it's fun when we win one, but it's kinda stupid overall.

What happened to the USSC case about lines due to race?

They just heard arguments, decision probably in June.

The Supreme Court had a chance to end all of this once and for all on what I thought was a pretty strong "voter disenfranchisement" argument - but they chose not to. I believe this and Citizen's United is currently at the core of why our political system is so toxic right now.

Didn't the USSC rule that they could do this already?

That opens the door for Republicans to flip MO-05
And for a lot of dems to monopolize whole states, like turning VA from 6-5 to 10-1 democrat, which they are doing.

Besides VA, which blue state could steal more seats?

Sadly the best way to do this is for every state to gerrymander equally. Small/Medium states like AL and LA should get to be 6-1 or 7-0. The left leaning states have already gerrymandered in most cases as much as they can. At this point every right leaning state needs to jump on board. I’m surprised VA can get a map put together to be so heavily D when it’s still a 55-45 state, but the good news is the harder left states have already done this. It is time for the 55+ republican states to do the same.

But does it really go either way?

I'd prefer a mathematical distribution starting at the top left corner of each state, but it's never going to happen. Legislatures going to legislature.

Maryland is going for the same thing. California, New York and Illinois are all trying to pick up seats and manufacture a dem Congressional majority. VA going 10-1 is the most extreme case, though.

Get ready for infinity impeachments.

Ok. Maybe this will be the catalyst for the fight we need to have in this country.
