HOUSTON — The Trump administration reached an agreement to pay $1 billion to French energy firm TotalEnergies to stop developing two offshore wind farms off the coast of New York and North Carolina, instead directing the investments to oil and gas projects.

Trump has campaigned against offshore wind for more than a decade, eventually losing a battle to stop a farm from being built off the coast from a golf course he owns in Scotland in 2015. He has called turbines ugly, expensive and dangerous to animals, though offshore wind proponents say those concerns are unfounded and that stopping any energy projects will only make electricity prices surge further.

Let's find a more biased rag than the Washington Post.

Not on certain days. Right?

The environmentalists wanted solar and wind. Now it’s whacking birds out of the sky and cooking them on the way down.

They cannot be happy with that unless they ignore it. Riiiijght?

They really want their mandates to be a great good. It’s just that they don’t produce much energy and they kill shite.

Solar panels are made with toxic components that are unrecyclable and make the land beneath them unusable if they are damaged or destroyed (i.e., hail).

solar may be good for isolated, backup, or portable applications - not impressed with applicability for constant use.

Nuclear is THE answer -

Agreed, solar has some great uses, they just arent able to scale as a grid supply like nuclear.

Its great for space applications as well, you dont want to deorbit a nuclear plant.

One of the biggest problems is that the retard downvoting this has absolutely no idea what he’s doing. He’s either Seven years old or he has a degree in gender studies. He has absolutely no idea of any science. This is not political, it’s factual. There’s not much sense in the world today regarding true science based knowledge.

Liberal elites don't want them off the coast where they live either.

Also people tend to forget the billions Obama spent on green energy companies that went bankrupt.

$87 billion to green energy companies. That was in 2009. That would be $132 billion in today's money.
