Lowest in SEC

Next lowest is Missouri & A&M both with 10

Vanderbilt has the most with 26
Oklahoma is 2nd with 20

Also it seems like maybe 2 of those are Milam-only?

Even if we were playing elite D we aren’t going to turn that many when our pitchers are racking up strikeouts.

Last year we seemed to have a good bit early and then seemed like we would go weeks without one, but that’s because Kade and AE were dealing

Team defense is embarrassing at this level.

Yes it is but the lack of double plays isn’t why it’s been disgustingly bad.

None of second baseman had to field it first

We are seeing some of the worst 2B play I can remember at LSU. If we aren't going to play defense there then they need to hit and none of the options are hitting either. I miss Dugas, he could at least make routine plays and also mash.

I wonder at what point we start exploring the idea of using Guidry as the defensive replacement late in games. It's getting ridiculous

All the shifting is killing the DP chances. In my opinion. I think we are overthinking it.

A lot of shifts, plus we go for Ks is going to damper the double play chance. However we are spending plenty of time walking people so if we could field other than Milam we should have more.

I loved Dugas but he was not a good second baseman, at all. They shifted him out of the play regularly. Thompson would slide to second whenever there was a left handed batter up. Dugas had no range whatsoever. He's actually played more at third than any other position in the minors...his fielding % there is .915.

But yes, Dugas could hit so I didn't really care

Going from Dickinson, the best defensive 2B in lsu history to what they have now has been a tremendous drop off

I think you misspelled DJ Lemahieu but yes it's been quite the drop off
