Georgia State attorney uses AI for filing, cites non-existent cases.

There are so many of these stories now. I bet there are two or three a week. This being a state attorney is a new low, though.

The only thing these lawyers are going to understand is either suspensions or contempt of courts with heavy fines.

AI is a good tool for legal research, but always check the citations

Should result in disbarment. I guarantee they are charging clients for time they aren’t actually working.

Attorneys with a DEI element should get two freebies.
Third offense gets a sternly worded letter.

Why are they so polite?
I'd be going scorched earth, but I guess that's why many people consider me an a-hole. I'm okay with that assessment, by the way.

I don’t see how this happens. AI is a good tool for research, but if you aren’t checking every single case and statute it gives you, you deserve to be before your states disciplinary board. It makes shite up and misstates case law far more often than it gives accurate information.
It’s better the more you feed it.
AI for the legal profession is currently a blend of a 1L law clerk and a law professor who has never practiced.

Unfortunately they have to remain calm but being in front of them even discussing such action should create immense shame for normal people.

This is the cornerstone of the legal profession, and far predates AI.
