What does it matter if the stock is $20 or $800?

I’m sure he’s asking what he can get the most shares for cheapest to maximize his dividend.

More likely to be able to choose multiple companies to diversify and spread the risk, Spread it among three companies instead of just buying one.

Also check AGNC. Current yield is 14% and is paid monthly. Price is off its recent all time highs, but the yield has never been below 7.5% in the last 20 years. If your focus is dividends and you don't mind price swings, it might be an option. I have been buying some every month for the last 18 months. Most of that time the price has swing between 9.00 and 10.50.

Whether you have 1 share or 400 shares, the dividend yield is the dividend yield.

Yep. Simple math. But if buys only one company, and that company cuts their dividend, he may be screwed. If he can buy three different companies and one cuts their dividend...maybe not so much.

Yield
Helps income-focused investors evaluate the return on investment from dividends alone, allowing for comparisons across different stocks

So, it doesn't matter...

This thread is going about how I expected it too.

As stated, yield is yield.
No matter what the stock price is, you're going to get a certain dollar amount in dividends per $1,000 or per million invested.
The stock price is irrelevant.
