I knew him in high school in Bogalusa. Nice person and a great Tiger. RIP

I think I remember him as a Chinese Bandit lineman.
“Gonna stop a touchdown, CHOP CHOP”
RIP TIGER.

I knew his son as an undergraduate, and met Emile once. He was very kind to me. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

I remember that name. I was only 6 in 1958, but those guys were my heroes.

That quotation is attributed to Hart Bourque, another Chinese Bandit. Bourque used to have a Chinese restaurant on Nicholson which was still in business up to 1994.

Look at the pic in the OP and then answer your own question.

You do realize a white male can produce a black child if the mother is black???

I was at LSU during Emile's playing days. He was a solid player and probably the team's best punter, but substitution rules of the era limited his role. He was the younger brother of Sid Fournet, one of the greatest all-time Tiger players who was selected as a consensus All-American in 1954.

is it pronounced "four-nay" or "Four-net" like buga?

No disrespect, but Tommy Davis and Cannon are my memories.

In Bogalusa, we always pronounced it as "Four-net"

RIP Emile - the Chinese Bandits were my favorite sports team of all time - and they never ever disappointed me. There will never be a more beloved unit.
You always made me proud.
Prayers for your family.

Same here - I was 4 months older - Loved the Bandits since the day the name was announced. They never let me down.
