When did Ring start adding descriptions to the notifications?
Like “a white truck is driving down the street”
Or “a person is getting up and walking away down the pathway”
“A UPS delivery person is bending down at the entrance”?

I think last week or the week before. i disabled the AI features even though I'm sure they're still harvesting all my data

She's not really bending over but I'll allow it.

She can handle my package

I’d probably save that footage.

I had to replace my Ring doorbell. It came with the AI descriptions, but it was a temporary free add on which has since expired. If I wanted to keep it I'd have to pay more.
I'm not paying more for the AI to tell me a handsome man walking a black dog just walked by the front door. I know who that handsome man is (its me).

I get that. Didn’t notice these until recently. It helps sometimes. When I see “a person is walking on the pathway with a leaf blower”. I know I don’t have to check.
The generic “motion at the front door” makes me check.

I thought it was my iphone doing that... the same time I noticed Ring doing it, my text messages were also being AI summarized on my lock screen.
It's funny though.
Yesterday I got one that said "there is a person on your porch holding a doormat" followed by "there is a person bending down on the front porch"... my husband was out there shaking out and rolling up the rugs.

Mine started a little over a week ago. It told me I had a goat walking in my front yard. It was just one of my dogs. She was very offended.
It freaks me out when it says "a person is walking in your yard" so I look, but no one is there. At least not that I can see.

What if it's actually a flamethrower?

I have a few ring cameras around the house.
When I had the AI descrtiption free trial, it covered all the cameras.
To test it out I pulled out my pistol and waived it over my head.
I got a message "A man with a firearm is walking in the backyard."

Do you have Amazon Sidewalk turned on or off (might be labeled as opt in or opt out or similar)?

I got "a gray squirrel is on your roof". well my camera doesn't point to my roof and how do you know its grey? I start to question my reality

Please angle them so it’s on your doorstep, not facing out. It’s so freaking tacky to record everyone who walks their dog or jogs near your part of the street.
