There's no break in MAGA. Trump's approval with MAGA GOP is literally 100%. 90% of MAGA GOP approve of US military action in Iran. Those who disapprove of Trump are not MAGA at this point. Importantly: MAGA makes up the same share of voters as it did when Trump won in 2024.
quote:
“The bottom line is this: if you are a member of MAGA, you approve of Donald Trump,” he declared. Further dispelling the MAGA split narrative, Enten pointed out that the president’s base of support within the GOP is “not shrinking” but actually “slightly larger” than it was in 2024.

But but what about the muh fracture that @LuckyTiger @boodisman and the rest of the useful idiots keep talking about

If those numbers are true it means he’s replaced the AF people who are opposed to this with GOPe/neocons who previously opposed him.

We need useful idiots for fodder.

Maybe, but I doubt he lost any AF people.

You must’ve missed the dozens of threads where people like me who wanted us out of foreign wars and saw Iran as unlikely to fall absent ground troops along with people who are concerned about Israel’s influence had it out with the MAGA loyalists who after supporting getting us out of foreign wars during the campaign are now good with neocon level intervention and are just waiting to finish with Iran to move into Cuba.
There is not universal support for this within AF and I suspect many within MAGA are disillusioned post Epstein as well but still support Trump relative to the other options on 80% of issues.

MAGA is not what got trump re-elected. it was the independents, libertarians, and anti-war crowd (joe rogan viewers) who pushed him over the edge. if not for them, he loses to Kamala. and he most certainly has lost them all now with the actions in his second term.

You and others are the extreme minority. The numbers show that the majority of people against the conflict were never AF to begin with.
If you want proof on this board, just look at the majority of posters complaining. They were never with Trump. Most of them were in the group known as ronbots. They have been anti-Trump for years.
You may be the exception, but the vast majority of the complainers have been complainers for years.
And the numbers support this. There's just not as many people like you as you think.

If you take out election fraud, Trump won 70-30
Everybody pushed Trump over the finish line.

The survey—conducted between March 3 and March 5 with a sample size of 1,232 respondents who voted for President Donald Trump in 2024—broke down respondents into camps of "Traditional Conservative," "MAGA or Trump Conservative," "Moderate Republican," and "Libertarian." Overall, 84 percent of the Trump voters surveyed said they approve of the military campaign against the Iranian regime, while just 14 percent disapprove.

As I said in the last post made about this, just yesterday...
I did not have "MAGA now trusts what MSM says" on my bingo card.
First never Trumpers praise Trump's actions. Now MAGA loves CNN. Some weird change is happening.

It is interesting to see this joint love and hate that dude/his poll depending on what the particular poll says. He's already been discounted as a hack and his poll worthless multiple times, but every time it shows something favorable......

I agree, but his poll is not the only one showing this though.

So let’s set aside my opposition and your support and just try to call balls and strikes on this.
As I see it Trump has a soft majority on this action while maintaining a broad base of support within his party after bringing in never Trump GOPe types and neocons who had been opposed to him for various reasons even if he lost some support from the anti-war faction that was part of the 2024 coalition that he won with.
I believe he’s riding a heater and won a lot of latitude after what he pulled off in Venezuela, which objectively has to be seen as one of the greatest coups of recent American history.
Using that support and credibility, and as long as Iran remains just a bomb and go mission frankly I don’t think many Americans care one way or the other and the initial results were positive with the ayatollah being taken out and really no consequences to the average American. If it stays there and eventually we call it a day it probably won’t be talked about at the midterms just as we’ve basically moved on from the first wave against Iran months ago because every president of my lifetime has done this and it usually is out of the news within a couple weeks.
If we dedicate ground troops and things stall that would be a potential support pivot. At that point people would have to take notice and evaluate what’s up because we’d start to see real casualties and have actual consequences requiring questions as to what our agenda and outcomes are, but we aren’t there.
The other path is the IRGC folds and Trump gets another massive foreign policy win on the heels of Venezuela that limits China strategically and bolsters a pro-US post globalist world and it would be all DJT as the architect.
