Teams by # of players born in the USA:

Either play for the greatest country on earth or don't play at all

Un-American pieces of shite

it should be just USA, Japan, and central american countries. If a country can't field its own citizens why even have a team.

Most of the guys playing for a different country didn’t get an invite to Team USA. I read somewhere that Jarren Duran did, but wanted to play again for Team Mexico before his Mexican grandmother passed and he wouldn’t have started for team USA. Hard to know their personal motivations

I would have preferred Nola over Skubal if we had known Skubal was going to go home after 4 innings, though.

Do you have a list of teams by # of players that won a travel ball world series? I think that's probably a better judge of talent.

Bonus points if it was held in Gulf Shores

It's very much the opposite. They're essentially ambassadors for America's pasttime.

A team full of Italian Americans was being shown on TV all over Italy and became a small sensation. This whole thing is about growing the game.

You want more European countries to have rosters that look more like Czechia, but it takes time. Half the Czech players came to the US to play in JUCOs anyway.

I think one thing they should do is make the island countries either field their own team like Puerto Rico does or fold them all into their primary country, so the Puero Ricans would play for the US.

The Netherlands almost entirely made up of guys from Curacao and Aruba. Great Britain's whole infield is Bahamian. frick all that. If Puerto Rico is separate, Curacao should be separate.

Theres no event i would want to play in so badly that i would not only put another country's name on my chest but then compete against the USA.

None.

They're playing for the enemy because they hate America. They are actively trying to defeat the United States. If they love "growing the game" in other countries so much, go live there.

I wouldn't say that but there should at the very least be a set percentage of players born in that country for each team. And for me that percentage would have to be over 50%.

I wouldn’t either, but my family can be traced back to South Louisiana in the 1700’s

A lot of these guys are naturalized or first generation. Can’t really fault them for wanting to honor and represent their living family members.

I get your sentiment, but the WBC wouldn’t be possible if guys only played for team USA.

Cool point dude. I wouldnt do it for any competition, athletic or otherwise. Trivia, beer chugging, staring contest.

Its an odd, me first, mindset that i just dont understand. Im an American. That means something to me.

why should non citizens get to play for other countries is my point? get dual citizenship if necessary. IDK it kind of defeats the purpose of having a team from Italy if most of their players are US citizens
