So i just got a new iphone for the first time, ive always been an android fella, and when scrolling through the calender i noticed something weird coming up on friday called ed al firtir or something like that, so i go onto google to search it and its some muslim holidays. I cant even delete the thing from my phone! Why on earth would apple think we need to know about muslim holidays and have no way of deleting it? Im thinking about returning the phone and gettinf my old one back if apple cant make this right when i call them again in a little bit. Any solutions out there from you fine folks on how to deal with this pickle of a situation?

You can turn off holidays in the calendar.

It’s not a bug, it’s a feature

My free wildlife wall calendars have that Muslim garbage on them too. I need to go to a Christian bookstore and get some real calendars. I have Android phone but don't use calendar for anything so no idea if I have this problem on mine but I agree OP, we don't want that garbage on our devices.

The obvious and simply fix is to allow users to select which calendar they want.
Very few (maybe none) want a calendar with NO religious holidays noted.

Islamaphobia was birthed during Barak Hussein's presidency

The libs think if we just are nice enough to them they will stop killing us.
It isn’t working….

Mine had pretty of Christian holidays in it as well. I'm neither Christian or Muslim so IDGAF.
Islam is the second largest religion in the world, it isn't that far behind Christianity as far as numbers go. 28% of the global population is Christian and 25% is Muslim.
You can select which calendar you want BTW.

So let me get this straight. The biggest smart phone manufacturer on the planet puts the holidays of the Second largest religion on the planet on it's calendar. And you are ranting and raving on a message board about how offended you are instead of doing a short internet search on how to turn it off?
Like you think Apple is going to change their stance and eliminate billions of dollars in sales because Lsubatman1 on tigerdroppings.com is offended? I mean good luck and enjoy that future blood pressure medication you'll need from getting unreasonably mad over petty bullshite.

This is such a weird meltdown. Just unsubscribe from US Holiday Calendar. Do you really need a reminder of when Easter is on your calendar? In 5 seconds, you can Google it. Or, get rid of your iPhone.

Your melting down over me asking a simple question? Take it easy there bud. I just want to pick and choose what MY PHONE shows me. I bought the darn thing, i want MY PROPERTY to behave like i want it to. Why are defending muslins and apple? Whats your angle here?
