The gallant Major John Pelham, J.E.B Stuart's chief of artillery, was killed by shrapnel at the Battle of Kelly's Ford on March 17, 1863. Pelham had served the Confederacy well in the war's first two years, famously delaying the advance of 40,000 men with just two cannon during the Battle of Fredericksburg on December 13, 1862.

Born near Alexandria, Alabama on September 7, 1838, he was buried in the nearby town of Jacksonville where he remains to this day. He was only 24 years old.

Anything named after Pelham in the South is named after him. His family is buried in the middle of a neighborhood in Saks, Alabama. I believe he is buried in Jacksonville, Alabama.

Walter Matthau for the win here. Original is by far the best.
