I honestly don't remember life without this guy on TV and in movies,

He was in a ton of westerns and dramas on TV, He was in many, many movies.

One of my favorites he played a real person, Edward A. Horrigan Jr. Charirman of RJ Reynolds in Barbarians at the Gate.

I think his best role was as RJR Nabisco's Ed Horrigan in Barbarians at the Gate with James Garner, best scene was when the deal fell apart...lol. Or in the lab with the Premier.. I laughed so hard!

Bartender: What’ll you have?

Marty: Ice water

Bartender: Ice Water? I don’t pour ice water, I pour whiskey.

Barbarians at The Gate was a good book and movie. The first big multibillion dollar merger between RJR/Nabisco (which stands for national biscuit company). Bakeries used to be a huge business so they all got together, became one, and tried to corner the market. One became National, then Nabisco. The news media was so outraged by this merger. They shouted greed and Wall Street bad for a damn year straight. And it was tiny compared to today. And you know why tobacco companies started buying food companies? So they could take what they learned about making cigarettes addictive and apply it to food. 40 years later, fatties abound.
