He pitched 2.1 Friday night vs Texas A&M. He gave up 1 hit, walked 7, 3 ER, & K’d 2. He only had 5 walks in 21.1 IP in the pre conference schedule. Hopefully he continues struggling in this road start and Evans cleans his issues up.

Well at least we will score a bunch of runs for all the walks he will throw.

I am going to be fricking pissed if this team comes out swinging. If they don’t lift the bat off of their shoulder he’ll be at 50 pitches by the third inning.

I think outside of that start, he's having a pretty solid year so far.

Cameron looked really bad in the 1st inning vs A&M. I thought he was a LH Skenes when we signed him. He's in his 3rd year out of HS and his mechanics look as bad as ever.

Casan Evans tells Cam Johnson to hold my beer and I’ll show you what a real shite show looks like on the mound.

Johnson walked more and got fewer outs than Evans did.

We lead the SEC in total free passes (BB+HBP). We haven't really been an aggressive team at the plate all season, which, IMO, is part of our issue. We're getting into too many pitcher's counts watching balls over the middle of the plate go by. That may lead to more free passes, but it's also led to more defensive swings and more strikeouts

Our pitching is honestly the exact opposite. We're trying to strike everyone out more so than throwing balls over the plate. It's led to leading the league in Ks, a low OppBa, but also almost the worst in the league in free passes allowed.

Johnson was wild thing at LSU. I’m sure LSU will be very patient when he’s on the mound.

The Box needs to come alive and get in his head.

Let him know about every single pitch outside the zone.

And on top of the fact that he has control issues, he is now going to be facing his old school at their place.

I won't be surprised if he doesn't start Thurs night, and if he does the leash will be measured in inches

Jesus Christ - some of yall are so out of touch. What specifically led you to believe this

Which mechanics specifically? What are you seeing in his delivery? How would you fix it?

I bet you don’t/can’t answer

I agree on this and feel like it's a compensation for the lack of infield defense.

I agree to an extent but we pitched the same way last year but our pitchers had better command to nibble the edges without walking a million dudes and we had an elite defense behind them, so it worked. I don’t think Jay anticipated our defense being this bad or guys like Evans to struggle so much with his command

You have to know that we will make him look like the next coming of Cy Young. We just seem to have that effect on opposing pitchers

That's why the Cardinals refused to give him that huge contract out of high school.

Bad mechanics, undisciplined and not coachable! (Nothing like Skenes)

College Baseball version of Jordan Jefferson/Brandon Harris/T.J. Finley.............

They refused to give him a big contract because they drafted him in the 20th fricking round and spent all their money on other guys.

Why are you such an idiot? If they felt like he was uncoachable with bad mechanics, they simply wouldn't have drafted him in the first place.

Roggie.. hyperbole much? He was the highest rated LHP we've ever got to campus, however

Of course yes there was always some refinement to take place but there was a lot of hype for Cam Johnson coming in.

Think most around here had him penciled in as Sunday starter as a true freshman and that wasn't some hot take.
