Chanting USA is fine. Shitting on the guy that’s not American, just because the American has taken the lead, is unacceptable.
Covid golfers get a lot of the blame, and I can’t really argue with that. Their influence is just beginning to outnumber the folks that understand and respect the etiquette of the golf.
Best way I can put it is there’s always been people listening to music, drinking, etc. while playing golf. That’s fine, just keep it to yourself. But it seems like there’s a lot more groups that are there to blast music and drink heavily with golf being the excuse to do it.

Valid points, Golf has always meant a few beers and having fun but there was a general decorum. The crowd is devolving and I guess it matches the downward movement of all sports crowds. Fitz is a great person, just cant imagine the kind of person that would root against him, or at least in that way. I can see sports betting amplifying this too.

I think the tour changing and hyping the Waste Management environment is part of the change and complicit in the problem.

I was there yesterday following the Fitz/Cam group for the entire 18 holes. The booing was nothing really at all and has been really blown out of proportion. Other than an insane amount of SEC frat bro’s in attendance it was a really good crowd. Even Fitz said it was no big deal.

YouTube/Instagram/TikTok golf has added to it as well. I mean you can watch videos all day of people being retards on the course and most people find it hilarious. So people like to be retards while at the event as well.
I did see that Fitzpatrick brushed it off as no big deal, at least compared to the Ryder Cup.
I prefer the European Ryder Cups quite a bit more than the US ones simply because of the fans. They are rowdier than your normal tournament but not to the point of being disrespectful the entire event. You just have to roll your eyes watching a Ryder Cup in the US.

The WM once a year is great, but the Waste Managementfication of golf is general is completely out of control. Not just at tour events, but the behavior on the course is insane.
It's made public, and especially muni, golf basically unplayable. Nobody wants to be stuck behind idiots playing 6 hour rounds, drinking 20 transfusions, and driving their carts on the greens.

Yeah I get that. I should’ve noted, I wouldn’t participate, but it just doesn’t bother me as much as the more egregious shite that’s more direct towards the player.
