Brown, Curiel and Milan are dudes. I haven’t seen enough of our newer players to proclaim anyone else.

small ball players.
Small ball requires the ability to lay down a bunt and at least challenge to beat it out. The only person that’s done that, is brown who coincidentally leads in home runs- Definitely not a small ball player.

I’d throw stanfield up there.
He’s been solid. He isn’t a power guy, but he gets on base. And has been one of the most consistent players from last year. Aside from his injury he’s been awesome

Last year. That team had a complete offense. They had guys who could change the game on one swing but would also bunt, steal, etc. Dickinson had 12? HRs but was also our best bunt-er. They also had significantly more steals than Jay's previous 3 teams.
The main difference for 2026 from 2025 is this team hasn't shown an elite part of their game. This time last year we knew at a minimum the defense was elite.

In 2011 Mahtook hit 14 homers in the first season with those wet newspaper bats. The next highest on the team was 4.

It’s amazing how he gets left out all the time. Especially since he LED the team in BA for SEC games last year

He isn't flashy, doesn't show boat, and doesn't hit the long ball...
He is consistent, and steady. pretty great in the field, solid at the plate.
I haven't looked at the numbers. However, it feels like he was slow to get going with the bat last year, but by SEC play (and especially the post season) he was just consistently on base. lots of singles and doubles.
He, also, doesn't have a lot of bad at bats. Even if he strikes out he shows good discipline and pitch recognition doesn't chase a lot.
