Question about Military Recruitment

When applying for the military and a new recruit goes through boot camp and all of that... do they ever explain that the reason they are training the recruit is because one day that same recruit might have to go to war?
I feel like the military never explains this to their recruits because all of the sudden everybody is freaked out about our military having to go to war which is what they signed up for and were trained to do.
I know police officers who trained to be police officers but I never see people freaking out when police officers have to go to work everyday. Why is the military any different?

great quote from rush
"The purpose of any military is to kill people and break things"

You can’t actually be this obtuse. It’s not about what they’re doing but why they’re doing it that people freak out about.

ok, so WHY is everybody freaking out WHY about they are doing things?

The military was taken over by social engineers to promote affirmative action and as a jobs program / advancement structure for blacks and women.
That's really all the government has become.
The military's job is to kill the enemy. No more. No less.

I think I can explain this. I’m part of the new wave of believes that are social Prog-Fasc. Our most fundamental belief is around a socialist free market. So you can invest but all capital gains are shared among all people.
Effectively, we believe in a military and mandatory conscription but at a higher tax rate. For example if you join the military, you need to be taxed on your salary and all the resources you use. A military member should not be forced to go to war against their will. They should be allowed to choose if they go or not. That’s essentially my reason. If you choose to go to war, you should be taxed at a high rate for all resources you use in the process in going to war.

When I signed my enlistment papers and swore the oath, I had no illusions. I knew exactly what I could be getting myself into.

What’s funny is most of this board calls the French a bunch of pussies but the idea of our guys going to war is the most awful and scariest thing ever

Exactly. You’re not joining the Boy Scouts.

Apparently you didn't learn any lessons from the 2003-2015 period during the GWOT
Also if we search your posts I'm sure you won't have any hypocritical stances about Ukraine, right?

People have opinions? I don’t know what to tell you if you can’t understand why an isolationist or someone who is anti-interventionism, or anti-MIC, etc. would have a problem with this or certain aspects of this. It sounds like you live in an echo chamber. Get out and talk to people. FTR I’m very much in favor of regime change in Iran.

This might be one of the dumbest statements you've ever made. By this reasoning we should never question any war or use of the military because that's what they signed up for.

By this question .. what's the point in having a military if people are too chicken shite to use our military when needed?
That would be like opening a restaurant but getting upset when customers come into the restaurant to eat your food. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me

We were taught back in the 70s that boot camp was to train troops in basic combat training. It was explained that no matter what your MOS is…. the situation one day may require you to become 11B (Infantryman) and they teach you to kill. So cooks, truck drivers, drone operators, medics, etc… may have to take up arms against the enemy.

Are you so dumb you can't understand that people disagree on whether or not this is needed?

Why don’t you sign up and find out? There is nothing worse than some a-hole who’s never served complaining about the military. You’re lucky you live in a country without a draft

Every recruit knows this is a possibility even before going to a recruiter.

Well, we do explain this almost continuously to everyone in our units and the only ones freaking out are civilians who know next to nothing about the military at any level.

When a regime slaughters 30-40,000 of their innocent citizens... You would have to be an evil piece of shite to think that was not needed
